Music by the Lake, although designed for Aurora University, will serve all of the Lake Geneva area residence, tourists, and lovers of the arts.

 

The facility provides covered seating of r1200 and 1500 supplemental lawn seats.  The walls open to give the feeling of an outdoor theater, while providing protection from the elements.  All of this was done keeping the utmost importance in acoustics.

 

The tower, echoing the image of a lighthouse, comes complete with the “widow’s walk” which will serve as a reception area overlooking beautiful Lake Geneva.  Functionally, the tower serves as a fly space to house props, backdrops, and other ancillary storage needs.

 

Additionally, the lowest level opens onto a lakefront patio which can be rented out for wedding receptions and other gatherings.

 

Mr. Saavedra worked with Aurora University staff and donors to begin the planning and design process the summer of 2004.
