In the fall of 1998 a tragic fire destroyed the historic Barrington United Methodist Church located in downtown Barrington. After extensive research and deliberation the congregation decided to rebuild on a 23-acre site in neighboring Barrington Hills.
The new 52,000 square foot facility was to recall some of the historic imagery of the old church in both it’s style and in it’s design elements, such as the steeple.
The new plan features a Sanctuary, which seats 450 people. The facility also includes a Fellowship Hall, Classrooms and Administrative Offices. Also included are state of the art audio/visual systems in the Sanctuary and other areas of the church.
Construction of this $8,000,000 project was completed in the summer of 2003.
