AWARDS

SAAVEDRA GEHLHAUSEN ARCHITECTS RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
Faith and Form magazine and the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture (IFRAA) have awarded Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects a 2001 Design Award for their project:
Prairie Repose Cemetery Chapel in Amboy, Illinois
in the category of Religious Architecture - Renovation. Faith and Form and IFRAA recognized the winning designs at the 2002 Biennial Conference in Washington, DC in October 2002. An exhibition of this project and the other winners was displayed at the 2002 Convention of the American Institute of Architects in Charlotte, NC. Winning entries were published in the Spring 2002 Awards Issue of Faith and Form magazine. Eleven projects received architectural design awards from the 210 projects submitted. Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects was the only Illinois firm to receive an award that year.

 

 

2005 ISAAC WILSON AWARD
Awarded to Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects by the Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce for their leadership, success and community involvement.

 

 

2005 AIA HONOR AWARD
Awarded to Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects by the Northern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects for their project:
Barrington United Methodist Church in Barrington Hills, Illinois.

 

 

2005 AIA MERIT AWARD
Awarded to Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects by the Northern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects for their project:
FIrst United Methodist Church in Belvidere, Illinois.

 

 

2002 AIA MERIT AWARD
Awarded to Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects by the Northern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects for their project:
Prairie Repose Cemetery Chapel in Amboy, Illinois.

 

 

2000 AIA HONOR AWARD
Saavedra Gehlhausen Architects awarded the 2000 AIA Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture for their design of the:
Poplar Grove United Methodist Church in Poplar Grove, Illinois.
The Northern Illinois Chapter of the American Institute of Architects honored the church as one of the three most outstanding buildings in northern Illinois in the past four years. Jurors' comments: "Exterior forms are strong and readily identifiable. Vernacular is appropriate to a rural church setting.

 

 

AIA MERIT AWARD
Given in 1989 by the Northeast Illinois Chapter of AIA for:
St. Rene Goupil Catholic Church in Chicago.

 

 

AIA MERIT AWARD
Given in 1989 by the Northern Illinois Chapter of AIA for Holy Family Catholic Church in Inverness, Illinois.

 

 

AIA HONOR AWARD
Given for Rockford Health Systems Neo-natal ICU in Rockford, Illinois.
